Preparation time
Preparation is the time between your payment and the parcel leaving us: the hat is pulled, checked by hand, and boxed so the crown and brim keep their shape.
| What you ordered | Preparation time |
|---|---|
| Any hat — baseball caps, bucket hats, beanies, straw hats, visors, berets, fedoras | 3–6 business days |
Business days are Monday to Saturday, excluding holidays. Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST or on a Sunday start the next business day. You see the preparation time on every product page and again in your cart, together with the estimated delivery date.
Shipping methods and rates
| Method | Transit time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (tracked) | 10–20 days | $5.00 for the first hat, $3.99 each additional — free on orders of $500 and over |
| SF Express | 7–10 days | $25.00 for the first hat, $5.99 each additional |
| Alaska and Hawaii | Standard service | $30.00 flat — the only method available for these addresses |
The same rates apply worldwide. Transit time starts the day the parcel is dispatched, not the day you order. Australia and remote destinations can take a few days longer on the standard service. All prices are in USD.
How hats are packed
Structured hats — caps, straw hats, fedoras — ship in a rigid box with the crown supported so the brim does not get crushed. Soft styles such as beanies and berets are folded once and bagged. If a brim arrives slightly flattened from transit, leave the hat on a flat surface overnight or steam it gently; it will return to shape.
Order tracking
A tracking number is emailed within 24–48 hours of dispatch (check your spam folder if you do not see it). You can follow the parcel any time on the Track Your Order page. If no tracking has arrived 3 business days after the dispatch email, contact us and we will chase it.
Orders with several hats
We normally ship everything together once the last hat is ready. If one piece would hold the rest back for too long we may split the order; each parcel then gets its own tracking number and email at no extra cost.
Delays
Delivery times are estimates. The usual causes of a late parcel are:
- customs clearance on international orders;
- carrier backlogs, weather or peak-season volume;
- an incomplete or incorrect address;
- events outside anyone's control.
If tracking has not moved for 7 days, get in touch and we will open a trace with the carrier.
Customs, duties and taxes
International parcels may attract import duties, customs fees or VAT/GST set by the destination country. These are charged by your local customs authority, are the recipient's responsibility, and are not included in the product price or shipping cost. If you are unsure, check with your local customs office before ordering.
Lost or damaged parcels
- Check around. Neighbours, household members, porch, garage, building reception.
- Ask the carrier. Call them with your tracking number — they can often locate a parcel marked "delivered".
- Tell us within 7 days. We open an investigation with the carrier on your behalf.
- Damaged on arrival? Photograph the box and the hat and report it within 48 hours — see the return policy.
Address changes
Double-check your shipping address at checkout. We can correct it any time before dispatch — email or call us straight away. Once a parcel has shipped the address cannot be changed, and a parcel returned to us because of a wrong address is re-sent at the buyer's cost.
